Sushi restaurants will be the trend here because I am a die-hard lover of Sushi. what makes it all the more better is that we get it fresh fresh fresh in Cape Town. Back in Gauteng I remember going to, and to paraphrase Harry Potter, a restaurant that shall not be named, and finding that even when they advertise sushi, they don't sell it because "people don't buy it"... The horror!!
Let's dig in...
EDO SUSHI'S sushi :)

I could probably write poems about sushi because it is that good. one restaurant that makes sushi worthy of its name is Edo sushi; a quiet small restaurant in observatory. They have a sushi bar, in the middle of which they make all the sushi and it is a great view indeed.
If you want to know if sushi is fresh before having it, the colour of the salmon used is a great indicator. it has to be as bright as the salmon above. If it is dark and has an offish colour... abort mission, i repeat, ABORT MISSION lol.
What i particularly enjoy at Edo is their fried sushi. It doesn't have too much oil and their coating is fairly seasoned. It's BEAUTIFUL! i'd recommend this for a person trying out sushi for the first time to get rid of the "it's not cooked" thought. You will not be disappointed.
What the restaurant could improve on is their Chinese food side of things, where they make the likes of egg fried rice, and sweet&sour pork.
Their prices are a bit higher than other sushi restaurant's but it is understandable because the quality of their sushi is much higher. The platter above amounts to R89 without a drink. The waitress there is always friendly and ready to help. Also take note that they have a buffet everyday For R140.
SO... go to Edo sushi, tell them Aunty Kea sent you and enjoy!
